New to SMU?
Catholic Campus Ministry at SMU is the place where the Catholic faith is lived and professed at SMU. We are a “home away from home” where the sacraments are celebrated, Scripture is read, the intellect is formed, Christian community is built , and the Gospel is lived out.
Christian initiation is an opportunity for SMU students to become fully-initiated Christians. It involves a journey of prayer, instruction, conversion away from sin & toward Christian living, service, Christian community and, ultimately, a decision on the part of the individual to profess faith in Christ and His Church.
Becoming Catholic
“The Catholic Center feels much more like a home than a center. If I need a place to study, socialize, eat and cook, or even take naps, I can always count on the Catholic Center. It really is my home away from home.”
– Mathieu Reyes ‘25
